The Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Angels meet Sunday in MLB action at Angel Stadium.

The Seattle Mariners could use a victory after losing four of their last six games. The Mariners have allowed 17 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in four of their last six games. The Seattle Mariners have lost nine straight games when allowing more than two runs. Offensively, Jean Segura leads the Mariners with 126 hits and 49 RBI while Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger have combined for 209 hits and 90 RBI. Marco Gonzales gets the ball, and he is 11-5 with a 3.38 ERA and 104 strikeouts this season. Gonzales is 2-0 with a 3.06 ERA and 28 strikeouts in his career against the Angels.

The Los Angeles Angels look to stay hot while building on their four-game winning streak. The Angels have scored 27 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last seven games. The Los Angeles Angels have won 12 straight games when scoring more than three runs. Mike Trout leads the Angels with 112 hits and 59 RBI while Andrelton Simmons and Justin Upton have combined for 207 hits and 104 RBI. Felix Pena gets the ball, and he is 1-1 with a 3.34 ERA and 34 strikeouts this season. This will be Pena’s first career game against the Mariners.

The Mariners are 7-3 in their last 10 Sunday games, 5-2 in their last 7 during game 3 of a series and 4-0 in Gonzales' last 4 starts. The Angels are 4-1 in their last 5 during game 3 of a series, 2-5 in their last 7 Sunday games and 7-20 in their last 27 games vs. a left-handed starter. The Mariners are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Los Angeles and 4-0 in Gonzales' last 4 starts vs. Angels.

The Los Angeles Angels have had trouble stringing together wins all season, so it's tough seeing this winning streak last much longer. Pena has been very solid this season, but he's gotten very little run support and has a 4.30 ERA at home in 23 innings. Gonzales has allowed just three runs in his last 19.1 innings of work and the Mariners have won eight of his last 10 starts. This seems like a spot where we can back the better team and the plus money, as I have little faith that the Angels have all of a sudden figured out how to finish games.
